DESCRIPTION

Head Ball 2 is an intense fast-paced head-to-head online multiplayer soccer game pitching two players against each other in a match of wits and tactics.

If you are not familiar with Head Ball, Head Ball 2 may seem a little daunting. Well, it shouldn't! It's a very simple game to pick up and play, the barrier to entry is a very brief tutorial. That being said, Head Ball 2 is by no means an easy game to master. The concept may be simple but becoming an elite player takes time, practice, and just a little good luck. Using special abilities, good timing, and all the wits you can muster may just give you the edge you need to crush your opponent and become the Head Ball 2 champion!

While the goal of Head Ball 2 may be simple, score more goals than your opponent, that could not be further from the truth when playing the game. Utilize a variety of tactics from the way you move your player to the special abilities you use to blow right past your opponents. Freeze your opposing player? No problem. Inflate the balloon to a humongous size so that it's almost impossible for your opponent to score? That's possible too.

Head Ball 2 not only encourages you to think outside the box and stretch the limits of soccer to its wacky and wild boundaries, it demands it. Your opponents will not hold back in their effort to outscore you. Utilizing special abilities of their own in order to wrongfoot you and slip the ball into the goal. This is where things get a little tricky. Just as you may take glee in freezing your opponent, shrinking them, or messing up their controls. They can do the same to you! Left is right and right is left. The ball is flying so fast it's on fire, you can't move, the ball is ten times its normal size. Does this sound like soccer? No. But, that's Head Ball 2.

When you first start the game you will enter into a quick tutorial to teach you the basics, from then on you will be pitched head-to-head against players of your own skill level. This last point is key. While yes, it is a brutal battle one-on-one. You will have some breathing room when you first start. Lower-level players and other beginners offer the best arena for honing your skills. Practice perfecting your fast reflexes and reactive movements. Learn what all of the abilities do and how to best utilize them. That way, when the time comes to enter a tournament (which you definitely want to do!) you're more than ready for what the opposition will throw at you.

As you level up in Head Ball 2 you will begin to unlock more interesting, goofier, and borderline unstoppable abilities that will leave your opponent frustrated and annoyed. There is always something to be striving for in this addictive soccer game, whether it's new abilities, a new level, or winning a tournament against your friends. There's a reason people rack up hundreds, if not thousands, of hours in this fast-paced game.

How to play

When you load up Head Ball 2 for the first time it will put you through a very quick tutorial to explain the game's dashboards and the basics of moving, shooting, and blocking. Then you will get an opportunity to test out your beginner abilities. Then, you will get an opportunity to join a tournament to increase your level and begin unlocking more useful abilities. Each tournament offers a head-to-head knock-out style system which eventually leads to just one player left standing. Naturally, winning a tournament will net you the biggest rewards while coming in second, third, etc will provide you with diminishing returns.

You'll find that when you first start playing winning games can be as simple as timing your abilities well and not letting in easy goals. This game is about movement and tactics just as much as it is about crazy abilities. A good tip for beginners is to avoid jumping when you are blocking the ball unless it's a really high shot. The chance of you jumping right over the ball and letting in an easy goal is quite high. Speaking from experience? Very high...

As you progress through the game you will periodically unlock new player characters with different stats. These stats are mild and only have minimal effects when you are just starting out. However, as you start to reach higher levels and win more tournaments you will find that your character - your head - can get bigger, faster, stronger, and jump higher. These differences count. It can even be the difference between winning and losing when two equally matched players meet head-to-head. If you don't feel like grinding out wins against your opponents and would rather pay to buy some better boots or some cooler abilities, you can do so. It's absolutely not necessary in the slightest though.

Another great tip for beginners is to keep your eyes on the clock. If the score is level and there are only a few seconds left, it's almost always a good idea to unload all of your abilities in a quick flurry against your opposite number. Some abilities truly are borderline unstoppable, only the most expert players have a hope of stopping them. With that in mind, it's best to save these kinds of abilities for right at the last second so your opponent doesn't have time to respond before the clock goes dead.

Yes, Head Ball 2 may be a simple game on the surface, but that doesn't mean it doesn't take skill and practice to become proficient. You are always playing against new people and challenging yourselves at higher levels. That's why Head Ball 2 has such a high level of replayability. If you are a seasoned veteran of the Head Ball 2 world why don't you share some tips in the comment section below? Or, share your favorite ability for squeaking past a last-second goal to frustrate your opponent beyond belief!
